How much monthly SIP do you need to build a ₹1 crore corpus — and what's it really worth after tax and inflation?
A ₹1 crore corpus is the most common milestone Indian investors anchor to. The headline question — "how much SIP for 1 crore?" — has a clean answer, but the honest answer has two more parts most calculators skip.
First, the nominal target. The solver below back-calculates the monthly SIP needed so that your post-tax corpus reaches ₹1 crore, not just the pre-tax figure. That difference matters: 12.5% LTCG on gains above ₹1.25 lakh can quietly shave lakhs off what you actually keep.
Second, inflation. ₹1 crore in 15 years does not buy what ₹1 crore buys today. Toggle "target is in today's money" in the solver to see the much larger nominal sum you'd actually need to preserve today's purchasing power — and the higher SIP that requires.
The classic rule of thumb is that the earlier you start, the more compounding does the heavy lifting. A delay of even a year can raise the required monthly amount noticeably; the delay-cost calculator shows exactly how much.
