SIP to Reach ₹50 Lakh
The monthly SIP needed for a ₹50 lakh corpus, shown after tax and adjusted for inflation.
₹50 lakh is a realistic medium-term goal — a home down payment, a child's higher education fund, or a strong head-start on retirement. The solver below computes the monthly SIP required to get there after tax.
Because the corpus is smaller, a larger share of your gains may fall under the ₹1.25 lakh annual LTCG exemption depending on how you redeem, so the post-tax gap can be proportionally smaller than for a ₹1 crore goal. The methodology page explains the assumption used.
Use the step-up option if your income is rising. Increasing your SIP by 10% a year typically lets you start with a much lower base amount than a flat SIP for the same target.

In shortTo build ₹50 lakh in 10 years at an assumed 12% a year, you need about ₹23,830 a month, with 12.5% LTCG on gains above ₹1.25 lakh taken into account. A longer horizon or an annual step-up reduces the starting amount sharply. Remember that ₹50 lakh in 10 years buys less than ₹50 lakh does today.
